Part-Time Van Driver Aide (Charter Oak)




We are accepting applications for a Part-Time Van Driver Aide to support our Day Support Program located in Charlotte, Court House.

The incumbent is responsible for the transportation of individuals/members to and from the program in an agency vehicle. He/she is directly responsible and accountable to the Day Support Program Director. OSHA regulations apply as the individual must be trained in First Aid and CPR.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule
  • High school diploma or GED


KNOWLEDGES OF:

1. The disability of mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities.

2. Vehicle operating procedures.

3. Basic computational math.

4. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) security and privacy regulations as they relate to the protection of confidential medical information and personal health information as required by law, professional ethics and accreditation requirements.


ABILITIES TO:

1. Work effectively and establish positive working relationships with people who have a wide variety of backgrounds, disabilities, and levels of functioning.

2. Determine appropriate levels of interaction with passengers.

3. Maintain control of a vehicle at all times.
