Job Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer III candidate to join our Stormwater Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM models.
  • Provide engineering assistance for the design of stormwater control measures, stormwater retrofit designs and other stormwater related projects
  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums to convey project results to our clients
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Participate in field data collection and construction observation duties as directed
  • Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree
  • Ideal candidates would have 5-8 years of water resources engineering including municipal drainage, proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and have good written/verbal communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
