Job Description:

This job is responsible for driving accurate, complete, and timely delivery of data. Key responsibilities include working with business stakeholders and technology teams to direct data management activities and ensure availability for use by appropriate consumers. Job expectations include managing execution within the enterprise data management standards, data quality, and control practices.

This role will specifically support Enterprise Customer Profitability (a.k.a. Profit), which is an enterprise application and authorized data source which produces risk adjusted profitability data for ~ 210 MM customer accounts each month. The scope of Enterprise Customer Profitability spans the following lines of business. 

  • Retail and Preferred

  • Merrill

  • Private Bank

  • Business Banking

  • Global Commercial Bank

  • Global Corporate and Investment Banking

  • Global Markets

As a member of the PDM team, this role will provide advanced technical and analytical guidance while influencing strategic initiatives. The role will lead global collaboration efforts, ensure governance and data integrity, and drive enhancements to the EC_PAM (Enterprise Customer Profit Analytical Measurement) platform. This role requires daily oversight and development of a small team of analysts and requires strong leadership in managing complex outbound processes such as Cross Reference tables, Householding, and Customer Segmentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Line of Business partners, including Compliance, Audit, and Risk to understand needs and produce data solutions, often times in partnership with Technology 

  • Identifies gaps in data management standards adherence and works with appropriate partners to develop plans for resolution, including recommendations so that relevant risk and compliance policies and standards are met

  • Analyzes emerging needs for data to address risk, regulatory, or business enablement priorities and appropriately plans for interim and target state solutions within data management policies

  • Monitors key performance indicators and internal controls in accordance with established thresholds, standards, and policies

  • Lead strategic efforts to improve profitability data delivery and utilization across the enterprise.

  • Oversee production support, ensuring data accuracy and quality through advanced monitoring and trend analysis.

  • Direct resolution of complex issues related to outbound processes and provide executive-level consultation.

  • Consult with senior business leaders on data strategy, governance, and optimization opportunities.

  • Drive change initiatives from requirements through design, development, testing, and post-production validation.

  • Oversee documentation and data lineage for sourcing through outbound processes

  • Mentor and guide team members within this tower, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics or related data leadership roles.

  • Expert-level SQL skills with ability to design and optimize complex queries for large-scale datasets.

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate data insights into business recommendations.

  • Deep understanding of financial statements and profitability metrics.

  • Prior experience leading a small team; providing training, coaching and oversight

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead global teams and manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.

  • Prior experience as a contributing member on a project team, including writing test plans and executing test scripts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong background in banking products and financial services.

  • Track record of successful business partnering and consulting engagements.

  • Experience influencing enterprise data strategy and governance frameworks.

  • Usage and familiarity with customer profitability and activity based (unit) costing concepts
