The Assistant Superintendent plays a hands-on, field-based role supporting project delivery through daily job site coordination, crew support, and execution oversight. This role works directly with field leadership to help maintain safety, quality, and production standards while ensuring jobsites are organized, efficient, and aligned with Stancil expectations. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow into a Superintendent role by developing strong field execution, communication, and leadership skills. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Field Execution Support o Assist in coordinating daily job site activities to support production and workflow. Support project execution from mobilization through close-out under the direction of the Superintendent. Help ensure crews are working efficiently and in proper sequence. Participate in daily site walks to observe production and identify potential issues early. Crew Coordination Support communication with subcontractors and field crews to reinforce expectations. Assist in aligning crews with scope, schedule, and quality standards. Help coordinate labor and materials to maintain jobsite readiness. Quality & Jobsite Standards Assist in monitoring work to ensure it meets Stancil quality expectations. Identify deficiencies and communicate them to field leadership. Support punch list completion and close-out activities. Help enforce job-site cleanliness and organization standards. Safety Support Reinforce job site safety expectations and company policies. Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately. Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as directed. Field Documentation and Reporting Assist in completing daily reports, site photos, and documentation. Support tracking of jobsite progress, issues, and delays. Learn and utilize field technology tools including Procore and Bluebeam. Team Support and Collaboration Work closely with Superintendents and Field Executives to support jobsite execution. Assist in resolving field challenges and maintaining workflow. Promote a team-oriented environment aligned with Stancil values. Project Leadership and Execution Own each jobsite from mobilization through close-out, maintaining schedule, budget, and quality alignment. Conduct daily site walks to verify production accuracy and subcontractor scope of compliance. Lead weekly trade coordination meetings to drive accountability and resolve conflicts proactively. Oversee field operations, including labor, subcontractors, equipment, and logistics. Enforce company standards for safety, cleanliness, and workmanship. Elevate critical schedule, safety, or quality issues to the Director of Operations and Project Manager, offering recommended solutions. Serve as the site-level point of contact for builders or client representatives, providing professional communication and timely updates. Oversee close-out tasks such as inspections, punch lists, and trade signoffs. Field Documentation and Reporting Complete daily reports, site photos, and safety toolbox talks. Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain schedule and budget visibility. Participates in field reporting and photographic documentation. Learn and apply technology tools including Procore and Bluebeam. Team Support and Collaboration Support senior Superintendents and field leadership. Assist with troubleshooting field challenges in real time. Help coordinate field labor, subcontractors, and equipment resources. Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement across teams. Other related duties as assigned. QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING 1-3 years of construction or field experience preferred. Basic knowledge of paint and drywall trades preferred. Multi-family experience a plus. Willingness to learn and develop field leadership skills. Familiarity with construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus. OSHA certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Valid driver’s license and insurability under company policy. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and courtesy with customers, vendors, and team members. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS The Assistant Superintendent works primarily in active construction settings, both indoors and outdoors, with frequent walking, lifting, and site inspections. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform site walkthroughs, and navigate uneven surfaces. Regular interaction with field and office teams requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple requests, and commitment to safety in all conditions.
