Hiring Location: Charlotte, NC (28202)
Average Weekly Pay: $1,350–$1,500
Schedule: 12 days out with 48 hours home every other weekend
Freight Type: No-touch regional dry van

CDL-A truck drivers in the Charlotte area can earn an average of $1,350–$1,500 per week on a regional dry van fleet with scheduled home time every other weekend. The position features 700–750 mile average hauls, mostly drop-and-hook freight, and 2021 or newer automatic equipment. With a defined 12-day work cycle, drivers know when their 48-hour reset is coming while still having enough time on the road to build consistent mileage.

A Closer Look at the Freight

The majority of freight is no-touch and drop-and-hook, reducing the amount of time drivers spend waiting at customer facilities. Some loads require live unloading depending on the customer, but drivers are not responsible for unloading freight.

Average trips run approximately 700–750 miles. Regional routes cover multiple states and provide a combination of longer runs and consistent customer freight.

How Home Time Works

This is an every-other-weekend home time position.

Drivers spend 12 days running regional freight and then receive a guaranteed 48-hour reset at home. The repeating schedule provides a clear home-time routine instead of requiring drivers to determine their next reset from week to week.

When safe truck parking is available, drivers may take their assigned tractor home during the reset. Approved parking locations may also be used when necessary.

Weekly Earnings and Benefits

Average pay ranges from $1,350–$1,500 per week based on miles and experience. Detention compensation is available for qualifying delays.

Benefits become available after 6 months and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

The Trucks

Drivers are assigned 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmissions. Equipment includes APUs and inverters along with refrigerator space and mounts for a TV and microwave.

Regular preventive maintenance is scheduled to help keep equipment dependable and limit avoidable downtime.

Rider and Pet Options

Eligible drivers can participate in rider and pet programs after approval. Drivers also have access to dispatch and maintenance support for routing, freight coordination, and equipment-related needs while on the road.

Minimum Driver Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL

At least 3 months of recent tractor-trailer driving experience

Acceptable driving and safety record

Must meet DOT qualification and company safety requirements
