Job DetailsJob Location: Operations Center - Charlotte, NC 28262Position Type: Full Time  GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB At Stancil Services, we pride ourselves on precision, partnership, and performance. The Estimator Supervisor – Paint and Drywall leads a high-performing team of estimators to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive bids that uphold Stancil’s standards of excellence and integrity. This position is responsible for overseeing all estimating functions—from managing workflow and reviewing complex bids to mentoring team members and maintaining relationships with customers and internal departments. The Estimator Supervisor ensures that every PO is accurate and approved for starting the full job process. Every proposal reflects Stancil’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and long-term value across all paint and drywall operations.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise, coach, and develop Estimators and related staff. Provide ongoing training and process improvement initiatives. Serve as the primary escalation point for estimating issues or discrepancies. Establish performance expectations and ensure accountability for deadlines and quality standards. Supervises the day-to-day estimating operations using established standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to produce cost estimates for technical projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposal or contract requirements QualificationsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  Oversee daily estimating operations for both production and custom builder projects. Manage all estimating tasks, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely completion. Identify and own the estimating scope for complex or high-value projects. Prepare, maintain, and organize bid documents and supporting materials. Review estimates prepared by team members to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards. Identify gaps in project specifications and communicate directly with customers to resolve discrepancies. Maintain strong customer relationships by responding promptly to inquiries and documenting actions taken. Design and maintain advanced Excel workbooks, utilizing complex formulas and automation to support estimating accuracy and efficiency.  Manage and update existing estimates and budgets based on internal and external feedback. Respond to customer or field inquiries regarding selections, specifications, and pricing in a timely and professional manner. Ensure all estimates reflect accurate costs that directly impact project profitability. Identify and resolve price discrepancies in purchase orders through audit-driven processes. Document, report and resolve all purchase order discrepancies with our customers.  Identify project risks and provide proactive solutions to minimize cost or schedule impacts. Develop, update, and maintain standardized estimating templates and forms. Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and accuracy. Review all builder scopes and contracts to produce detailed internal scopes of work for companywide use. General knowledge of builder portals. Collaborate closely with the Field Operations Manager to assess pricing accuracy and project specifications. Partner with the Account Coordinator Supervisor to resolve specification and selection issues. Work with the Purchasing Manager to identify the best suppliers for specific projects and customers. Walk complex projects as needed to ensure alignment between estimating, execution, and customer expectations. Manages the Cost Estimator function related to uploading house point totals into the piece pay app, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company compensation structures. Other related duties as assigned.   EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Minimum two (2) years of related experience in construction estimating. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Sage INTACCT accounting software. Plan Swift and familiarity with builder portals. Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems specific to the business.   STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Demonstrate professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Adapt to change with flexibility and a proactive mindset in a growing organization. Work collaboratively with department heads and field agents to maintain smooth, efficient operations. Achieve operational objectives within established timelines and financial parameters.   WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS Primarily office-based position in an indoor, cubicle-style workspace. Requires extended periods of sitting and computer use (75% of time) Frequent use of computers, tablets, and other digital tools. Must be able to sit, stand, talk, and listen frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to travel to job sites as needed to support estimating and project execution.
