We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Fleet Service Advisor for a large volume service department. A Fleet Service Advisor coordinates maintenance for heavy-duty trucks, acting as a liaison between customers, technicians, and management. They schedule repairs, manage work orders, track vehicle service histories, and ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., DOT/PM inspections) to maximize fleet uptime and safety. Key Responsibilities Service Coordination: Schedule and prioritize preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs for heavy-duty trucks to minimize downtime. Customer: Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding vehicle issues, updates, and maintenance status. Documentation & Systems: Utilize fleet management software to create, update, and close work orders, maintain accurate service records, and track repair histories. Technical Communication: Interpret customer concerns, discuss repair needs with technicians, and provide clear explanations to stakeholders. Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized services or parts. Safety Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet or exceed Department of Transportation (DOT) and safety standards. Qualifications and Skills Experience: Previous experience in heavy-duty diesel maintenance, commercial vehicle repair, or service writing (typically 1–3+ years). Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with class 5-8 truck components, including diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, and emission systems. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with mechanics and clients. Software Proficiency: Experience with shop management software and MS Office/Windows-based apps. Certifications: ASE certification in service consulting or heavy-duty truck systems is highly preferred. Ability to handle pressure: Skilled at managing multiple high-priority repairs simultaneously Common Requirements High school diploma or GED.
