Job DetailsJob Location: Charlotte, NC 28208Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $16.50 - $16.50Job Category: General LaborPosition Summary The General Laborer / Facility Custodian is responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep, organization, appearance, and basic maintenance of the facility and surrounding property. This position performs a variety of general labor and facility-support duties to help maintain a safe, orderly, and functional work environment. This position is focused on general facility upkeep and does not include routine cleaning or sanitizing of restrooms or similar personal-use facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general labor and facility-support tasks as assigned. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, common areas, storage areas, entrances, walkways, and other designated facility spaces. Sweep floors and work areas and remove loose debris as needed. Collect and dispose of general trash and facility waste in designated containers. Move, organize, load, unload, and store materials, supplies, furniture, equipment, and other items. Assist with setting up and rearranging workspaces, tables, chairs, equipment, and facility materials. Perform basic facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks that do not require specialized licensing or technical expertise. Inspect facility areas for obvious maintenance needs, damage, safety concerns, or other issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor. Keep storage, utility, receiving, and general work areas orderly and free of unnecessary clutter. Assist with exterior property upkeep, including removal of litter and debris from entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other designated areas. Assist employees, contractors, or maintenance personnel with general labor tasks as directed. Follow established safety procedures and properly use tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment. Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in an orderly condition. Perform other general labor, facility-support, and upkeep duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Previous general labor, facilities, warehouse, maintenance, groundskeeping, or similar experience preferred. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Basic ability to safely use common hand tools, carts, cleaning equipment, and facility-maintenance equipment. Dependable attendance and ability to work cooperatively with employees, supervisors, vendors, and contractors.
