McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Healthcare Data Analyst to work in its Information Technology department in Charlotte, NC.  

How will you help us achieve our mission? You will: 

  • Plans and manages data related projects
  • Conduct analysis and synthesize data from enterprise software platforms to assess the performance of programs, services, and operations. Utilize statistical methods and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Assesses data quality (completeness, accuracy, timeliness) in different systems
  • Coordinates with data contributors to improve data quality
  • Facilitates with other teams to understand systems and data
  • Codes SQL queries, creates reports and visualizations of the data
  • Documents report specifications
  • Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations
  • Build and maintain comprehensive data visualization tools, including dashboards, working closely with the stakeholders to validate data.
  • Writes reports or summaries based on data analysis for stakeholders, executive leaders, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Writes processes, procedures, or training documents related to data or reporting
  • Develop and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and currently accepted legal standards.

What are the qualifications needed for this role?  

Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in health analytics, data analysis, or data science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. 
  • A Master's degree in health analytics, data analysis, or data science, or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge and/or experience in:

  • Statistical and research methods, quantitative and qualitative analysis, assessing structured and unstructured data.
  • Extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on data and assessing data quality.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • Certified Health Data Analyst or similar preferred but not required. 
  • Certification development may be supported as part of professional growth. 

Computer Skills:  

  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Understanding of health analysis principles, including medical terminologies, electronic health records (EHR) programs, data modeling and visualization, and analytics systems.
  • Proficiency in using EHR data modeling systems for clinical documentation, performance metrics, regulatory reporting, and information security.
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as Java, C, Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, Qlik, or similar business intelligence tools
  • Skilled in database design, data structure, modeling, and development of database management systems.
