Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Provider - IR Clinic

We're looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) who will work in accordance with the Radiologists to provide exceptional patient care. Must be able to adapt to clinical situations. The APP has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age-specific needs and also involves other care partners (radiologist, referring providers, staff support) as needed to help ensure the appropriate provision of services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Involved in clinical work managing complex patients through advanced decision-making, interpretation of laboratory values, assessment of radiological studies, clinical evaluations, and limited procedures.
• Performs initial consultations, follow-up visits, hospital rounds (admissions/discharges), and obtains the majority of H&P information for radiology procedures.
• May perform minor rounding procedures as needed, such as drainage catheter removal, under general and proximate supervision and within the scope of practice of a radiology APP and as outlined on the delineation of privileges.
• Treat and manage patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Participates, collaborates, and actively engages with APP administration, radiologists, and hospital staff to achieve goals and mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Serve as an educational and clinical resource to staff, patients, and their families.
• Assists with formulation of policies and protocols as they relate to the APP team and clinical workflow based on established guidelines.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by Operations Committee.
• Participates in research initiatives for the development of protocols and/or data analysis.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for organizing time and workload to manage all service lines.
• Responsible for assisting with training of new APP hires.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

• Graduate-level education
• Advanced Practice Provider
• Board certified by accrediting body
• Certification: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NCMB, DEA

Experience (years and type):

• 2+ years’ experience
• Surgery, trauma, critical care, vascular experience with inpatient/outpatient consultation experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of company and compliance policies
• Adept with EMR and dictation systems
• Analytic ability to evaluate and determine health status of patients and implement plans of care
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Apply critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to function effectively and adapt to a dynamic and often changing work environment, including multiple hospital facilities

Travel Required (% of time):

• Primary location is Charlotte (Atrium Health Main), with ability to travel to Concord (Atrium Health Cabarrus) on infrequent occasions.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Full day of walking and standing
• Lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Outpatient clinic located within the hospital, with potential work at outpatient centers.
• Exposure to infectious disease, contaminated equipment, and chemical hazards as applicable to the clinical environment.
• 40 hours M–F, flexible schedule options available
• No weekends, evenings, or holidays
