Assist and/or lead small group work for enrichment and reinforcement. Assist in carrying out a variety of age-appropriate and theme related activities. Assist the lead teacher in leading, supervising, and providing classroom structure. Provide on campus supervision for play areas to ensure children's safety and learning. Supervise lunch every day. Provide support and supervision of off campus excursions. Maintain an organized and efficient classroom. Other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School QualificationsQualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Previous experience teaching preferred. Adept at both large and small group instruction. Proficient in using technology as an instructional tool. Experience teaching in an independent school preferred.   Skills Exhibit a love of working with children in this age group. Flexibility to shift focus on the spur of the moment, in working with colleagues and students and in sharing classroom space. Ability to identify and prioritize the needs of the classroom. The ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues and serve as a collaborative team player. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Willing and able to resolve conflicts with colleagues, parents and between students. Strong organizational skills, efficient and accurate taskmaster. Strong classroom management skills, commitment to safety and civility. Exhibit willingness to have a growth mindset for learning new material and new ways of teaching. Strong desire to participate in the whole life of the school.
