Responsibilities
Position SummaryÂ
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Machining Engineer to provide technical and operational support for our machining departments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring CNC machining operations run efficiently by supporting tooling, machine setup, process documentation, troubleshooting, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.Â
The ideal candidate is a team-oriented individual who is organized, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while collaborating with machine operators, suppliers, vendors, maintenance, and production leadership.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Production SupportÂ
- Provide daily machining and mechanical support to CNC machining operations to ensure production goals are met.Â
- Assist machinists with setup verification, tooling changes, and process improvements.Â
- Coordinate machine readiness to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Â
- Support new product introductions and production launches.Â
Tooling & EquipmentÂ
- Manage cutting tool inventory and ensure that tooling is available for scheduled production.Â
- Assemble, preset, inspect, and maintain tooling as required.Â
- Coordinate tooling repairs, replacements, and procurement.Â
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.Â
Process SupportÂ
- Maintain work instructions, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and process records.Â
- Assist in developing and improving machining processes.Â
- Monitor machining performance and identify opportunities for cycle time reduction and quality improvements.Â
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.Â
Quality & SafetyÂ
- Support quality initiatives by verifying processes and assisting with inspection activities.Â
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and manufacturing standards.Â
- Promote good housekeeping throughout the machining department.Â
Continuous ImprovementÂ
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.Â
- Identify waste and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.Â
- Support implementation of standardized work and best practices.Â
Qualifications
Required QualificationsÂ
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.Â
- 5+ years of experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.Â
- Detailed understanding of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, and machine setups.Â
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.Â
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Â
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Â
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.Â
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.Â

Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.Â
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Â
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.Â
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.Â
