Position Summary:

The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician, I to join our team! This position is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Facility Operations Director and/or Assistant Facility Operations Director to complete work order requests.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for keeping maintenance shop clean, orderly and neat.
  • Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for prioritizing daily work.
  • Responds to work order requests and radio calls in a timely manner.
  • Performs minor repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.), paints, installs household fixtures, routine preventative maintenance for villas and cottages, and other requests as needed.
  • Treats all members with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Performs special projects as needed.
  • Assist in responding to Fire Alarms or drills.
  • Cross-trains in all other areas of the Plant Operations department.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and maintain “clean” driving record.
  • Must be skilled in proper usage of necessary tools and equipment for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, etc.
  • Must have at least one to four years’ experience in all areas of maintenance (e.g., electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, etc.)
  • Ability to talk respectfully with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of members, residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and other outside contractors.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
