What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Lead execution of the data-driven, AI-enabled Quality roadmap by translating defined Quality objectives into team priorities, work plans, and scalable digital solutions that improve transparency, cost efficiency, and decision-making across Quality domains. 
  • Drive the creation of lean Quality processes through automation and AI-supported solutions, minimizing manual effort, accelerating response times, and delivering measurable value through scalable AI use-cases, aligned with overhead and long-term cost-optimization targets. 
  • Partner with Quality, IT, data governance, and cybersecurity stakeholders to evaluate, recommend, and implement digital tools and platform solutions that support Quality priorities and align with enterprise standards. 
  • Manage the development, integration, and continuous improvement of Quality KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks across production, supplier quality, and field monitoring to support proactive risk identification and performance visibility. 
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting, escalation workflows, and team processes that provide timely insights and support data-informed decisions by Quality leadership. 
  • Build and lead a high-performing Quality AI Center of Excellence, managing Data Engineers & Scientists to design, develop and scale digital solutions, while ensuring cross-alignment and prioritization of Quality use cases with internal and external stakeholders at Scout (e.g. Production, IT), VW Group (Group IT), and Business Units in Quality. 
  • Establish an IT-based, cross-functional problem-resolution process — including root cause analysis (RCA), escalation management, and effectiveness tracking of corrective actions.  Reduce operational complexity and ensure a lean, consistent approach to issue resolution. 
  • Ensure rigorous documentation of quality issues, decisions, and lessons learned, integrating findings into future product and process improvements to solidify Scout’s credibility and readiness through launch and ramp-up. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • The position requires regular in-person collaboration and cross-functional engagement, as well as occasional travel for project implementation and alignment 

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of experience in automotive quality, manufacturing, or engineering, ideally within an OEM environment. 
  • 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders internationally. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.  
  • Proven track record in data-driven quality management, KPI system design, and digital transformation initiatives. 
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred) and strong knowledge of quality management systems. 
  • Strong understanding of production processes, supplier quality, and structured problem-solving methodologies. 
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and automation platforms (e.g., Power Platform). 
  • Experience with AI / advanced analytics applications in quality or manufacturing environments is strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including interaction with senior leadership and executive stakeholders. 
  • International experience in relation with VW Group and German lingual capabilities are a plus.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

 

Initial Base Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
