Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 yrs supervisory experience in security operations or transit operations
  • Valid NC Driver's License

Shift Specifics:

  • AM Shift, Tues. - Sat. from 4:30am to 2:30pm
  • Mid Shift, Sat. - Wed. from 1:00pm to 11:00 pm
  • PM Shift, Thu. - Mon. from 5:00pm to 2:00am

Are you a leader with 5-7 years of supervisory experience in security operations or transit operations? Block by Block is seeking Operations Supervisors to oversee the program that supports fare engagement efforts on the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Light Rail System. 

 

Block by Block is seeking to hire Operations Supervisors for 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts to provide oversight of our Fare Inspections Ambassador Team. Our Ambassador programs make communities much friendlier, cleaner, and safer. This, in turn, increases the number of visitors, businesses, and residents, which ultimately increases revenue and livability.

 

Daily responsibilities of the Operations Supervisor for Fare Inspections may include:

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection of candidates. Onboarding and training of all new Ambassadors. Create a culture that would make everyone want to join your team!
  • Continual adjustments to the deployment of resources to match changing needs. This includes resources of the "human kind." Basically, redeploying according to daily needs.
  • Continual problem identification and solving to improve the quality of the program. Problem solving is a very big part of what we do. (We need an innovator to lead our team.)
  • Purchasing and inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Reporting outcomes through a variety of reporting channels (This means spreadsheets, Kronos, Timekeeping, Budgets...you get the idea.)
  • Hands-on working manager in the field to provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous training on standard policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Professionalism: Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
 
Physical Abilities: Must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty minute meal break). Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
 
Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
 
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in computer usage and in Microsoft Office products.
