We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Supervisor to lead inspectors, support production, solve quality issues in real time, and help drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in our manufacturing operation.
Position Summary
The Quality Supervisor supports daily quality operations to ensure products meet customer specifications, internal standards, and regulatory requirements. This role leads Quality Inspectors, provides direction and coaching, and partners cross-functionally to support product quality, process consistency, and timely resolution of quality issues.
The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing quality professional who brings strong floor presence, sound judgment, and the ability to lead others while staying close to the work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervise the day-to-day activities of Quality Inspectors to ensure consistent execution of inspection processes, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with department expectations.
Monitor production processes and finished goods to verify compliance with customer requirements, product specifications, and internal quality standards.
Provide floor support for quality-related issues, including nonconformances, defects, containment activities, and disposition decisions.
Lead investigations into quality issues and recurring defects; support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Review inspection records, test results, and quality documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely completion.
Analyze quality data, scrap, and defect trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Partner with Production, Process Technicians, Engineering, and other departments to improve product consistency and reduce waste.
Support the development, revision, and enforcement of quality procedures, work instructions, and standard operating practices.
Maintain calibration control and ensure that measuring equipment is used properly and documented.
Train, coach, and develop new and existing employees in quality standards, inspection methods, documentation requirements, and problem-solving techniques.
Escalate significant quality concerns promptly and recommend appropriate action.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the department.
Support additional departmental priorities and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Minimum of 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or lead experience required.
Experience in plastics manufacturing or injection molding strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of quality inspection methods, defect identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
Experience using measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, or other testing tools.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality documentation.
Experience handling nonconforming material, containment, and disposition processes.
Familiarity with quality systems, audits, document control, and process improvement methods.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to lead employees, hold teams accountable, and work effectively across departments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; experience with ERP systems, quality systems, or reporting tools preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond quickly to floor issues.

ISO 9001 experience
Customer complaint and CAPA experience
Internal auditing experience
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure
ASQ certification or similar quality training
Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position works in a manufacturing environment and requires regular time on the production floor. The role may involve standing, walking, visually inspecting products and processes, and using measuring tools and equipment.
