The SOLIDWORKS CAD Technician works with the engineering team to model and develop new products, supporting existing designs and R&D initiatives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Manage engineering data and design workflows utilizing SOLIDWORKS PDM.
  • Support mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of components.
  • Provide technical support to production and project management teams.
  • Assist with FEA and design validation.

Experience and Education Required

  • 3+ years of practical mechanical design experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a desire to learn new engineering concepts.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proficient with SOLIDWORKS/CAD
  • Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS PDM.
  • Familiarity with engineering release processes and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing.

Travel Requirements

• Occasional (less than 5%) domestic travel expected to other HBD locations, customers, and/or vendors
