We seek an ambitious, technically minded professional who is eager to learn new technologies.

The SOLIDWORKS CAD Technician works with the engineering team to model and develop new products, supporting existing designs and R&D initiatives.

The role is based in Charlotte, NC.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SOLIDWORKS.
Manage engineering data and design workflows utilizing SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Support mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of components.
Provide technical support to production and project management teams.
Assist with FEA and design validation.

Experience and Education Required

3+ years of practical mechanical design experience.
Strong technical aptitude with a desire to learn new engineering concepts.

Technical Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office
Proficient with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Proficient with SOLIDWORKS/CAD
Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Familiarity with engineering release processes and ERP systems.
Familiarity with 3D printing.

Travel Requirements

• Occasional (less than 5%) domestic travel expected to other HBD locations, customers, and/or vendors
