Your Role 

This role is responsible for tracking environmental regulations, managing documentation, and handling reporting for both internal HSE management and external authorities. Additionally, it involves supporting audits, leading incident investigations with corrective actions, and providing HSE training and advice to personnel.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that all required regulatory and safety training is kept up-to-date.

  • Review accidents, assist locations in investigating serious accidents or near misses and developing corrective action plans.

  • Conduct or coordinate training on Security, Process Safety Management, HM-126F, Respirator, Electrical, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tag-out, Hazardous Waste, Emergency Response, Forklift, Hazard Communication, and Emergency Contingency Plans.

  • Receive Initial and Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training.

  • Perform Hazardous Waste Management functions at site.

  • Perform weekly inspections of Hazardous Waste Storage Area

  • Schedule Hazardous Waste Shipments when necessary

  • Assist in determining status of non-conforming materials

  • Ensure hazardous waste is stored properly

  • Ensure proper manifesting of all hazardous waste shipments

  • Assist in reduction of hazardous waste via process or procedure

  • Ensure that driver qualification files are maintained and kept up-to-date.

  • Conduct and participate in safety meetings and safety committee meetings.

  • Conduct customer training as needed.

  • Conduct and monitor NACD Responsible Distribution Process efforts in the district.

  • Participate in or assist with Emergency Response situations at Brenntag locations and customer locations.

  • Ensure that required regulatory reporting requirements are met.

  • Responsible for any additional duties as defined by the Regional SRQ Manager or local Operations Manager as needed.

Your Profile 

Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, regulatory, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in safety, quality, and/or health compliance roles.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hazardous Communication standards, OSHA regulations, and other relevant safety and health guidelines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence others while fostering trust and clarity.

  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities that contribute to our commitment to excellence.

  • Demonstrated dedication to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety, quality, and health risks.

  • Experience with documentation management tools such as TraceGains, SharePoint or ERP systems.
