Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. The position will include performing structural design and analysis of environmental structures such as low-rise industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, treatment facilities, dams and spillways. The selected individual will lead the structural design and construction administration responsibilities for major projects involving upgrades to wastewater, water and reclaimed water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Full structural design per governing building codes and design standards including ACI, AISC and ASCEÂ
- STAAD for analysis and design of structuresÂ
- Performing construction management tasks such as shop drawings reviews and field inspectionsÂ
- Communicate effectively and work successfully in a multi-discipline team environmentÂ
- Primarily in-office work, with some travel and field work required for site reconnaissance tasks, condition assessments, and structural observation
Required Qualifications:
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience ·
- Completed BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural concentration from an ABET accredited institutionÂ
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in NC and/or SCÂ
- Experience in design and construction of reinforced concrete, steel, reinforced masonry and structural aluminumÂ
- Strong written & verbal communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and in group settingsÂ
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detailÂ
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including ExcelÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with water and wastewater systemsÂ
- Experience in cross-disciplinary teamworkÂ
