Summary/Objective 

The Technical Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our valued clients. In addition, you will recommend technical solutions to a varied industrial customer base, support outside sales, and generate complex quotes.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and cultivate positive customer relationships
  • Provide price and availability on any standard or specialty items directly to customers
  • Develop and recommend value-added solutions for customer applications
  • Take and solicit orders from customers over the phone and via e-mail
  • Process orders, via order entry system, from our stock or directly source from suppliers
  • Expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers.
  • Follow up on orders to ensure critical deliveries.
  • Resolve any order problems related to delivery or paperwork issues directly with the customer and suppliers.
  • Handle all inquiries/contacts professionally.
  • Work in concert with our outside sales team; funnel leads/opportunities to the sales team
  • Resolve product issues or determine product needs over the phone or via e-mail

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift up to 15 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. 

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in customer service
