Description

 Jenkins Electric, an electro-mechanical repair company established in Charlotte, NC, in 1907, seeks an experienced Transformer Winder. Our company focuses on providing solutions and maintaining excellence in electro-mechanical repair and testing. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in winding coils for electrical transformers.


Responsibilities include:


*   Burning out, disassembling, and accurately recording winding and tap data for transformer rewinds and repairs

*   Reviewing winding data provided by engineers, collaborating on design enhancements, and determining necessary materials

*   Winding transformers and coils in strict adherence to design specifications

*   Utilizing the company's data recording system to ensure accuracy on shared projects, and consulting EASA databases as needed

*   Repairing and assembling transformer cores and frames, while ensuring coil quality

*   Labeling, testing, dipping, and re-testing finished transformers and coils, ensuring a clean finished product

*   Troubleshooting and repairing winding equipment

*   Performing routine maintenance on winding machines and documenting pertinent data

*   Implementing appropriate insulation techniques

*   Communicating with the Manager and Sales Representative regarding schedule conflicts or workload concerns

*   Preparing parts for shipment

*   Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines

Requirements

 

Education And Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 5 plus years of winding machines and equipment – setting up, running, and keeping them in good shape.

- Precision in winding coils are a must, following those specs.

- Understanding mechanical stuff and being able to fix problems is important.

- Experience checking windings and putting in new leads when needed.


Work Environment

-Our work environment is all about teamwork, keeping things tidy, and making sure everyone can communicate easily. You'll be working with some potentially hazardous equipment, and it can get loud, so following safety rules and wearing the right gear (like steel-toed boots and safety glasses) is a must.
