Summary

The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Environmental Services department, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role includes supervision of staff, management of supplies and resources, and compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. The Environmental Services Manager collaborates with other departments to maintain high service standards and supports the Director of Environmental Services in achieving departmental goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Environmental Services team, including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and infection control standards in all cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, including ordering and maintaining stock.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance needs.
  • Support the Director of Environmental Services in preparing and managing departmental budgets.
  • Monitor work request through WorksHub, bill residents and process monthly for Accounts Payable.
  • Respond to and resolve resident and staff concerns related to cleanliness or environmental services.
  • Provide hands-on support in cleaning and housekeeping activities as required.
  • Assist with emergency response protocols, including managing Environmental Services during urgent situations.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for cleaning and housekeeping tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Supervises the personal laundry service for the healthcare residents

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental services or housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.

Work Environment

  • Work involves exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Potential exposure to cleaning chemicals and biohazardous materials.
  • May require working extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
