Job Description:

Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will drive business value through day-to-day management for personnel and processes focused on new product development, reliability, and continuous improvement.  This individual will be responsible for developing individuals and teams capable of delivering best in class product quality including process training, detailed monitoring of PLS projects pre and post launch, continuous improvement initiatives and integrating consumer feedback into future design modifications. This individual will also be responsible for management and reporting of KPI’s for Quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages Quality Engineers focused on new product development and post launch product quality management
  • Ensures achievement of Quality deliverables within Product Lifecycle Sustainability Process
  • Establishes and manages systems and processes focused on pre and post launch initiatives to improve product quality
  • Manages data and analysis processes to identify cost and customer satisfaction impacts and risks and introduces corrective actions
  • Implements lessons learned activities for product quality to ensure repetitive defects are eliminated from current and future products
  • Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with cross-functional organization
  • Influence quality, environmental and productivity improvements through involvement in the development of new and improved procedures, process innovation and changes in corporate culture
  • Monitor and improve product and process efficiency by providing an independent audit function
  • Work in conjunction with manufacturing and supply partners to drive quality, process and cost savings through quality initiatives
  • Assure consistency of purchased components and products by establishment of effective acceptance criteria and product monitoring, auditing, inspection and test
  • Monitors and Reports Quality KPI’s and information – such as Cost of Quality, Returns, Consumer feedback
  • Domestic and International travel as required (10-20%)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical Quality Management role
  • Experience in consumer products development and manufacturing (Floor care a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Assertive, Initiative, collaborative and results oriented
  • Familiar with appliance regulatory and testing agencies such as UL, CEC, ASTM, IEC, CE and RoHS
  • Familiar with applying Risk-based / preventative / APQP Quality concepts
  • Experience with building a robust, disciplined Quality System (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
  • Experience working with Asian suppliers and internal manufacturing (Preferred)
