Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician Apprentice assist the Maintenance Manager with routine maintenance task while learning and applying basic troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve maintenance activities.
Essential Functions
- Assists Maintenance Manager with all maintenance activities as needed.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager in managing and coordinating outside vendors as needed
- Clears drainage/sewage stoppages using appropriate equipment and methods
- Make repairs to ceramic, vinyl, and tile floors as needed.
- Change Ventilation Filters as required.Â
- Perform lubrication of motors/pumps/fans. Perform cleaning of refrigeration coils.
- Complete corrective/preventative maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Perform painting as needed/assigned
- Perform cleaning/janitorial functions or supervise as required/assigned
- Perform event setups and take-downs as required/assigned
- Assist in installing new equipment as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Required
- 1 year of experience in the repair and maintenance of residential and/or commercial buildings
- Fluent in English language to speak, read and write clearly
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with normal working hours, working a maximum of 18 hours per week, while school is in session. However, as business needs become necessary, after-hours, holidays, or weekends may be required.
Travel
Travel is required for this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory duties for this position.
Work EnvironmentÂ
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. Must be able to work in hazardous conditions while maintaining safety standards, work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, industrial settings, and construction sites, and work in loud environments and temperature extremes.
Physical Demands
Essential functions of this position require: manual dexterity, large motor skills, ability to communicate, lifting, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, climbing (including but not limited to ladders), crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching with varying frequencies.
Heavy work: Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds, Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10-20 pounds.
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
The employee is regularly required to talk or listen effectively.
