Martha Jefferson House, a premier nonprofit assisted living and long-term care community, is seeking a Part-Time Day Shift Dining Aide to join our dedicated dietary services team.

This position plays an important role in supporting meal service and creating a welcoming dining experience for residents. The Dining Aide works closely with the kitchen and care teams to ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, respectful, and service-focused environment.

Responsibilities

The Evening Dietary Aide supports meal service and kitchen operations to ensure residents receive high-quality service and meals.

Responsibilities include:

• Serving residents in the dining rooms and delivering trays to resident apartments as needed
• Preparing beverages including tea, coffee, juices, and nutritional supplements
• Setting up trays and preparing food carts for the Health Care Center
• Portioning desserts and salads as assigned
• Wrapping silverware and preparing dining areas for service
• Assisting with special meals and social dining occasions
• Delivering supplemental feedings to nursing stations
• Cleaning tray line and dining areas after meals
• Collecting and transporting trays to dish room
• Scraping and washing dishes using mechanical dishwasher
• Cleaning kitchen and dining equipment including carts, coffee urns, and food service tables
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Stocking food, paper products, and supplies
• Removing trash and maintaining a clean work environment
• Assisting the cook with food preparation when needed
• Maintaining courteous and respectful interactions with residents at all times
• Supporting additional duties that contribute to the efficiency of the dietary department

• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food service standards
• Friendly and respectful communication with residents and staff
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift items related to food service duties
