On the court, this person delivers instruction at a high level, builds genuine relationships with members of all abilities, and actively contributes to growing a vibrant pickleball community at Farmington. Off the court, they take on meaningful administrative and operational responsibilities — managing registrations, supporting events, assisting with communications, and helping ensure the department’s programs are organized, well-communicated, and flawlessly executed. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is ambitious about their craft, hungry to develop their skills in a premier private club environment and committed to delivering a five-star member experience in everything they do. Strong candidates will bring a minimum 4.0 DUPR playing level, PPR or IPTPA certification, and a genuine love of teaching the game to players at every stage of their journey. CHARACTER & SERVICE STANDARDS Farmington Country Club holds every member of its professional staff to the highest standards of personal conduct and member service. The following qualities are foundational expectations — not aspirational — for this role: Demonstrates Integrity, Trustworthiness, Respect, Loyalty, and Humility in all personal and professional interactions — on and off the court, in the pro shop, and throughout the Club. Champions Farmington Country Club’s Service Culture at every touchpoint, consistently delivering a warm, attentive, and five-star level of hospitality to every member and guest. Maintains a positive, professional attitude toward members, guests, and colleagues at all times, including during busy, high-pressure programming periods. Serves as an accessible and approachable representative of the racquet sports program, treating every member with the same energy and care regardless of their playing ability or tenure at the Club. Exhibits professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in all scheduled duties, including lessons, clinics, events, and administrative responsibilities. Maintains an unencumbered commitment to the Club, ensuring that outside obligations do not diminish the quality of time and attention dedicated to this role. ON-COURT RESPONSIBILITIES: PICKLEBALL INSTRUCTION & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT Private & Semi-Private Instruction Deliver high-quality private and semi-private pickleball lessons to members and guests of all skill levels, from first-time beginners through competitive intermediate and advanced players. Develop individualized lesson plans and skill progressions for each student, drawing on current instructional methodology and a deep understanding of pickleball technique and strategy. Maintain detailed lesson records for each student, including goals, areas of focus, session notes, and progress milestones, to ensure continuity and personalization across lessons. Build a strong and growing private lesson book, proactively cultivating lesson relationships with new members, returning students, and lapsed players throughout the season. Communicate clearly and encouragingly with students regarding their development, adjusting teaching style to match each individual’s learning pace and personality. Group Clinics & Structured Play Assist in designing and leading group clinics at all levels — beginner, intermediate, and advanced — under the direction of the Pickleball Coordinator, ensuring each session is engaging, well-paced, and skill-appropriate. Lead assigned clinic segments independently, demonstrating the ability to manage court flow, deliver clear instruction to groups of varying sizes, and maintain an upbeat, encouraging atmosphere. Support the development and execution of structured play formats, including round-robins, challenge courts, themed mixers, and social play events, helping to build energy and community on the court. Assist with the seasonal and weekly clinic calendar, providing feedback to the Coordinator on format effectiveness, member preferences, and participation trends. Junior Pickleball Development Take an active role in the Club’s junior pickleball development program, delivering age-appropriate instruction, running junior clinics, and helping nurture a love of the sport among young members. Assist the Pickleball Director in building out the junior program curriculum, skill progressions, and competitive pathways, with a focus on long-term player development and member retention. Communicate proactively and warmly with parents regarding their child’s progress, clinic schedules, and any relevant updates or opportunities. Serve as a positive, energetic role model for junior players, modeling sportsmanship, dedication, and a joy for the game. On-Court Presence & Member Engagement Maintain a visible, engaged on-court presence throughout the week, including during open play sessions, drop-in programming, and social hours, to connect with members and encourage participation. Approach every court interaction — planned or spontaneous — with enthusiasm and professionalism, reinforcing a welcoming and vibrant pickleball culture at Farmington. Proactively introduce new members, non-playing spouses, and beginner-level players to pickleball programming, making the entry point into the sport as inviting and accessible as possible. Maintain a pickleball playing ability of 4.0 DUPR or higher, with a commitment to ongoing personal skill development and competitive engagement. Stay current on evolving pickleball technique, strategy, equipment, and industry trends, continuously incorporating new knowledge into instruction and programming. OFF-COURT RESPONSIBILITIES: ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT Program Administration & Registration Assist the Pickleball Director in building and managing clinics, sessions, and events in Northstar, including registration setup, capacity management, waitlist administration, and participant tracking. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of lesson bookings, clinic enrollments, event rosters, and court reservations in the Club’s management software. Monitor registration data and participation trends, flagging low enrollment, scheduling conflicts, or program gaps to the Coordinator for timely resolution. Assist with end-of-month administrative reporting, helping compile participation numbers, lesson revenue summaries, and event outcomes for department leadership review. Participate in weekly one-on-one check-ins with the Pickleball Director to review administrative priorities, track open action items, and ensure all tasks are progressing on schedule. Member Communications Support Assist in drafting member communications including program announcements, clinic schedules, event invitations, and seasonal updates, submitting all content to the Pickleball Director or Director of Racquets for review prior to distribution. Help ensure that the Club’s website, app, and digital channels accurately reflect current program schedules, court availability, and event details, flagging any discrepancies to the appropriate department. Support the promotion of clinics, events, and special programming through email campaigns, Club Circle submissions, app updates, and in-club signage as directed. Assist the communications team with racquet sports content preparation, including flyers, promotional copy, and social media content, as directed by the Director. Events Support & Coordination Assist the Pickleball Director in the planning, promotion, logistics, and execution of all racquet sports events, including tournaments, member socials, round-robins, leagues, birthday parties, corporate outings, and holiday events. Take ownership of assigned event logistics tasks — such as court setup and breakdown, participant check-in, bracket management, score tracking, and equipment preparation — completing each with precision and a service-first mindset. Be present and actively engaged at all racquet sports events, helping ensure smooth operations, a welcoming atmosphere, and a seamless member experience from start to finish. Confirm event logistics — including staffing, equipment, court reservations, and catering coordination — no less than 48 hours before each event, communicating proactively with the Coordinator on any open items. Participate in post-event debriefs, offering observations and suggestions for improvement to the Coordinator. Cross-Department Support Assist in coordinating with Food & Beverage, IT, Communications, and other departments as directed by the Pickleball Director to support smooth event execution and programming delivery. Participate in IT team initiatives as requested, learning and helping to train other racquet sports staff on any new software platforms introduced to the Club. Support the development of racquet sports packages and programs, such as the “Stay and Play Racquets Retreats,” by providing teaching, logistics, and on-court support during retreat programming. Assist in efforts to maximize usage of all FCC racquet sports facilities, supporting programming ideas that reduce member attrition and strengthen the Club’s overall racquet sports value proposition. FACILITY STANDARDS & DEPARTMENT CONDUCT Help maintain all racquet sports facilities in immaculate, safe, and professional condition at all times, including court surfaces, nets, courteously, escalating to the Pickleball Director or Director of Racquets as appropriate. Attend all staff meetings, department meetings, and training sessions as requested by the Pickleball
