The University of Virginia School of Law is hiring graduate exam assistants to help proctor final exams between 8:00am-6:00pm on weekdays from April 27 through May 8.  A mandatory training session will be held the week of April 20.  Â
Exam assistants will support the Law School’s Student Records Office (SRO) with exam administration to help facilitate a smooth, secure, and fair testing environment.  Â
Exam assistants will:Â Â
Monitor exam rooms to help enforce testing rules (e.g., restrictions on electronic devices and other specified materials) in a calm, professional, and respectful manner. Â
Promptly and accurately document any irregularities with SRO personnel.  Â
Provide excellent customer support to students and Law School personnel.  Â
Maintain confidentiality. Â

Exam assistants may be asked to assist with other tasks such as: Â
Organizing and maintaining exam questions and student information in a secure environment.  Â
Reviewing exam rooms before exams begin to ensure rooms are in good condition.Â
Distributing exams in accordance with Law School protocols.  Â
Other duties as assigned. Â

The Law School administers exams in its building and does not conduct remote exams.  Exam assistants may be assigned to large exam rooms, small groups, or individual testing spaces.  Â
Exams are administered using Exam4 software. Exam assistants will not provide technical support or technical troubleshooting. All computing and Exam4-related issues will be handled by Law IT personnel, who will be available to support students as needed. Â
Exam assistants must have a strong attention to detail; be able to show good judgment in sensitive situations; and be reliable, punctual, and able to remain attentive for extended periods.Â
Outside of the mandatory training, the anticipated work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 6:00pm, April 27 – May 8.  Applicants need to be able to work at least a five-hour shift on the days they work; applicants do not need to be available every day of the exam period.Â
Prefer students who can work a complete day (8:00am-6:00pm) or a minimum of either 8:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-6:00pm.
Position Compensation: $20.00 Hourly
