Our Chaska site is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Automation Technician to support the reliability, advancement, and performance of our manufacturing automation systems. In this role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, improve, and create automated equipment including PLC-controlled systems, robotics, and integrated manufacturing technologies. You will partner with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize processes, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.Â
The anticipated schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday with flexibility from 12 PM-10 PM per the second shift.Â

What You’ll Do:Â
Perform troubleshooting on automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control systemsÂ
Diagnose electrical, controls, communication, and integration issues in automated systemsÂ
Support programming, modification, and debugging of PLC, HMI, and robotic systemsÂ
Install, configure, and commission new automation equipment and upgradesÂ
Work with sensors, vision systems, servo motors, VFDs, industrial networks, and pneumaticsÂ
Partner with engineering teams to design and implement Jigs, fixtures, and automated solutionsÂ
Design and build electrical enclosures including panel layout, wiring, documentation and integrationÂ
Design and machining of components for fixtures and automated solutionsÂ
Maintain and update automation documentation, schematics, and system configurationsÂ
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and proactively identify and mitigate risksÂ
Communicate technical issues and solutions effectively with cross-functional teamsÂ
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with site standardsÂ

What We Seek:Â
3+ years of experience in automation, controls, or industrial maintenance required
High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related field preferred
Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorshipÂ
Experience troubleshooting PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred)Â
Familiarity with HMI systems, robotics, and automated manufacturing processesÂ
Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics, control system diagramsÂ
Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skillsÂ
Experience with industrial sensors, instrumentation, and process control systemsÂ
Working knowledge of robotics, including programming, EOAT setup, and troubleshootingÂ
Understanding of industrial communication protocols and network troubleshootingÂ
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to support integrated electromechanical systemsÂ
Ability to follow documented processes, SOPs, and safety proceduresÂ
Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving, and communication skillsÂ
Basic computer skills and knowledge of SolidWorks (preferred) or other related CAD platforms.Â
Knowledge of manual and CNC machining processesÂ
Ability to complete turn- key automation systems independently from design to integration Â

Physical Requirements:Â
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at timesÂ
Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shiftÂ
Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, and reachingÂ
Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, or platforms as neededÂ
Ability to obtain forklift certification if requiredÂ
Works well independently and within a team environment Â
