About the role

Job Summary
The Sr. Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This role performs advanced machine setup, monitors production quality, and may assist in training junior operators.
This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.

This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate machinery according to specifications. Monitor machine performance and product quality. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures. Document production data and report issues. Train and support junior machine operators. Skills & Qualifications Typically requires vocational training (or equivalent experience) and several years of relevant work experience to carry out the role. Proficiency in operating industrial machinery. Understanding of safety and quality standards. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and documentation skills.

Journey Level Machinist

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, the Journey Level Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating Machining 聽equipment in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This role involves manufacturing, and reconditioning components to meet OEM and industry standards. This role involves using manual and CNC controlled lathes and mills, 聽and interprets mechanical drawings and sketches to execute high-quality work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs layouts, sets up, and operates machines.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Read and interpret procedures, work orders, and technical drawings to meet specifications.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Apply knowledge of metals and alloys, including stainless and carbon steels.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Improves set ups and methods for higher quality and improved cost.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operate overhead crane and forklifts safely as directed by Supervisor.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform other duties as necessary.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintains a safe, neat, and orderly workstation

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists in the disassembly, inspection, and re-assembly of pump equipment when required

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow transitions between team members.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support and assist coworkers, including training and collaboration.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide safety program which includes following all safety policies and procedures

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supports and cooperates in Sulzer Nuclear Quality Program聽 聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs other duties as assigned

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Works overtime as requested

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and scissor lifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum of five (5) years of experience in machining.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspection.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Basic math skills.
