About This Opportunity

The CAD Technician II is an experienced drafting and design professional responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining detailed product drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation for customer and manufacturing projects. Working closely with Sales, Production, Quality Control, and other cross-functional stakeholders, this role supports quotation development, technical specifications, and project execution while ensuring designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models from physical samples and/or 2D drawings
  • Complete sizing calculations and prepare drawings for specifications and quotations
  • Prepare product assembly and shop drawings for customer projects, sales support, and manufacturing operations
  • Maintain accurate drawing files and documentation for quoting, fabrication, and quality control activities
  • Review project requirements and develop drawings that meet customer specifications and business standards
  • Update and maintain digital databases, engineering documentation, and drawing records
  • Adhere to internal and external customer timelines and expectations
  • Collaborate with Quality Control to understand process control, inspection, and testing requirements
  • Work effectively with Sales, Production, Quality Control, and other cross-functional teams to support project execution
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of professional CAD design, drafting, or modeling experience
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches
  • Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete projects on schedule
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

Preferred

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in Drafting, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related field
  • Experience creating product assembly, fabrication, and shop drawings within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order equipment, industrial products, or water and wastewater industry projects, including quotation and specification development
