Description

Siskin Children’s Institute is gaining momentum in philanthropic support, deepening community awareness, and expanding how we engage donors in advancing our mission. The Development & Engagement Manager will play a key role in this work, partnering with the Director of Development to translate strategy into action and results. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who is equally comfortable meeting with donors, executing digital campaigns, and working across teams to ensure fundraising priorities are visible, compelling, and effective. The right candidate will bring both initiative and follow-through, helping to increase support and deepen connections to the families we serve.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Relationships 

  • Engage individual donors through meetings, calls, and personalized outreach. 
  • Serve as a trusted and professional representative of the organization in the community. 
  • Identify opportunities to deepen engagement and grow donor support over time. 


Fundraising Impact 

  • Lead the execution of annual giving efforts, including digital campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and giving days. 
  • Manage and optimize online fundraising platform to enhance donor experience and results. 
  • Utilize software to manage donor activity and segment audiences. 
  • Execute and evaluate e-philanthropy campaigns 
  • Support planning and execution of events, such as the annual signature gala StarNight, donor events, and volunteer projects. 
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure a strong donor experience and successful event outcomes. 


Messaging 

  • Partner with Marketing/Communications to ensure fundraising campaigns are timely, visible, and aligned with organizational priorities. 
  • Contribute to messaging across email, social media, and digital appeals with a focus on clarity, urgency, and impact. 
  • Help translate program work into compelling stories that connect donors to mission. 


Administration 

  • Assist with donor tracking, reporting, and coordination of communications. 
  • Maintain accurate records. 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support fundraising priorities and organizational goals. 


This role is intended to be flexible and adaptive. Any and all duties as assigned over time may be required to support organizational needs.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field (nonprofit experience preferred; children’s services a      plus).  
  • Experience with platforms such as GoFundMe Pro, Raiser’s Edge NXT, and Mailchimp.  
  • Confidence in building relationships and representing an organization externally.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute ideas and execute effectively.  
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.  
  • Comfort working across teams and contributing to shared goals.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Organize and prioritize work & manage time effectively
  • Demonstrate an attitude of excellence and respect for all individuals
