Job Summary:
Orders supplies/IV fluids from appropriate warehouse or outside vendor. Performs departmental inventory counts for DME. Answers telephone calls and handles minor problems. Orders specialty equipment from appropriate rental company and documents required information for billing purposes. He or she must be able to perform and assist in the training of new departmental personnel to perform a wide range of duties for the supply and distribution of equipment/Pharmacy items, orthopedic set-ups, IV fluids, and emergency/specialty supply carts. Must be functional on hospital computer system, Pyxis Medication Stations and hospital inventory control systems. Responsible for the filling of durable equipment orders, cleaning equipment and disinfection processes for specialty scope and miscellaneous instruments. Adherence to and familiarity with control and safety concepts as outlined in departmental policies, OSHA and JCAHO/DNV Standards. Must be able to provide appropriate equipment to the patient being served based upon a review of the equipment order, patient age, and location of the patient. Must have excellent communications skills. Must provide excellent customer service to nursing, patients, employees.

Required:
High School Graduate

Preferred:
2 years education beyond high school level preferred with emphasis on computerized inventory skills

Experience:
Required: One year experience in a computerized equipment/inventory system preferred

Appropriately processes LVP orders following procedures appropriate to the practice area. Accurately processes Crash Carts for adults and children and restocks medication tray appropriately. Performs refills and other Pyxis functions for Pharmacy and CD. Delivers Equipment/ IV and Pharmacy items as required to any nursing area. Cleaning and disinfecting of all types of Equipment.
