Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an HVAC Maintenance Mechanic, under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, you will maintain our facility's environmental systems.Every day, you will assist with general maintenance, installation, and repairs of expansion units, chilled water fan cool units, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic/electronic control systems. You'll handle both routine and emergency tasks, ensuring a comfortable, safe, and functional environment.To be successful in this role, requires strong HVAC knowledge, practical repair experience, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to uninterrupted system performance.

  • Completes assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or informs supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task.
  • Immediately identifies and informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Achieves to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures.
  • Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Maintains a professional attitude toward patients, visitors and staff at all times.
  • Varies work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Graduate General studies
  • Certificate Other Certificate of HVACR technical education or Equivalent years of experience in the field
  • HVAC Universal Technician

Preferred:

  • Vocational School Grad
  • At least 3 years commercial or industrial HVACR experience
  • 1-3 years At least 1 year of practical experience in an accredited hospital facilities department
