Job DetailsJob Location: Support Solutions Chattanooga - Chattanooga, TN 37421Position Type: Part TimeGENERAL FUNCTION: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works closely with clinical staff, the finance department, the quality department, nursing, and the executive leadership team to optimize clinic functioning and ensure efficient, high-quality care for the individuals supported by the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Provide medication management and other mental health services for the Mental Health Clinic. 2. Provide mental health assessment to new supportive housing admissions within 7 days of admissions and conduct follow-up consultation services. 3. Provide either telehealth or in-person mental health assessment to new Behavior Respite admissions within 72 hours of admission. 4. Provide as needed consultation around psychiatric questions, medical diagnoses and interactions, medication reviews or pharmacology. 5. Ensure billing is submitted in a timely manner to the Mental Health Clinic. 6. Understand minimum requirements for relevant billable managed care service codes and ensure that documentation for services rendered will withstand an external audit on those requirements. 7. Have a working knowledge of the electronic medical records systems used by the corporation, defined as sufficient understanding of the systems to train new clinicians on the programs and consult with established clinicians to resolve minor problems. 8. Understand and apply state regulations to clinical practice requirements. This includes developing a working knowledge of the systems in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as the federal Medicaid system and any new states the corporation may expand into. 9. Understand and apply managed care requirements and regulations to clinical practice. This includes developing a working knowledge of all managed care companies with whom the corporation currently has provider contracts. 10. Maintain compliance with the state outpatient mental health facility licensure standards. 11. Maintain compliance with CARF standards, including standards relating to documentation, service standards, data collection, and training. 12. Comply with emerging state-of-care expectations regarding clinical telemedicine services. 13. Ensure that any restrictive procedures implemented by clinical staff are supported by proper authorizations via the local human rights committee. OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist with developing procedures to optimize efficiency and workflow. 2. Work with internal clinical staff and external stakeholders to identify new codes or services that could be offered to maximize revenue. 3. Ensure trending and relevant statistics around departmental functioning, such as billing efficiency, clean claim and denial rates, wait list times, revenue-per-staff, etc. are completed. This also includes gathering and tracking outcome-related agency data, such as information on goal completion and access to services as required by CARF and other regulatory bodies. 4. Work with clinical staff to prepare documentation for state surveys, TN Care audits, licensure visits, CARF credentialing, and other scheduled reviews of departmental service quality. 5. Work with QA to ensure timely completion of plans of correction that result from external reviews. This includes consultation with QA regarding the best ways to meet any performance shortfalls, as derived from a working knowledge of the relevant regulations and standard of care. 6. Address and resolve problems, grievances, or unusual requests by clinic clients or outside stakeholders. 7. Assist in the revision of policies and procedures that have a relevant mental health interface within the corporation. 8. Provide information to the leadership and development teams about administrative/financial issues that have the potential to impact growth or expansion (both positively and negatively) in both existing and potential markets. 9. Identify high-risk liability issues and bring them to the attention of the executive leadership team, along with potential solutions or interventions that may help mitigate risk. 10. Assist with marketing efforts to continue Mental Health Clinic growth. 11. Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of Support Solutions. 12. Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Attends all safety training as scheduled. 13. Work as part of the team to ensure that Support Solutions’ Quality principles (Plan Measure-Assess-Improve) are practiced and achieved. 14. Operates Support Solutions’ and personal transportation in a safe and healthy manner. 15. Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by designated and/or authorized staff. QualificationsMINIIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and three to five years of progressive work experience in the management of a clinical setting to include the essential functions noted above. Must be credentialed as PMHNP-BC at time of hire. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Effective verbal and written communication skills · Effective organizational skills · Effective interpersonal skills · Must be able to practice confidentiality LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: Valid Driver License · Agency insurance coverage for vehicles operated in the course of work at specific locations shall stand as the primary insurance coverage for employees working in that setting. Valid automobile insurance is required for all employees working at homes where the agency does not provide a vehicle and this coverage must be presented prior to transfer to any home where an agency vehicle is not provided. The agency reserves the right to request proof of insurance regardless of the site location or availability of an agency vehicle.
