Department Position Summary:
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in BEHOR. The employee must be able to care for patients requiring operative procedures etc. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span possessing the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.

Must be able to communicate effectively and adapt to the constantly changing workload. Assist with various procedures, including but not limited to, activities of daily living, measuring I & O's, cleaning of area and stocking of supplies and equipment, knowledge of sterile procedures. Must be able to work with others as a member of a health team. Must be willing to learn. Must be able to communicate well with patients, families and co-workers. Must have a genuine interest in patients and coworkers as demonstrated by timeliness and working when scheduled, including weekends and holidays.
