Job Summary:Â
As a Business Development Representative, you are responsible for selling logistics transportation services to current and potential customers. Must actively seek out and engage customer prospects. Must have the ability to build and maintain relationships and negotiate agreements. Some travel may be required. A thorough understanding of the transportation industry is required. Â

Duties/Responsibilities:Â
• Identify and solicit new client opportunities.Â
• Develop and consult with current customer baseÂ
• Responsible for growth of customer relationsÂ
• Manage customer service day to day operationsÂ
• Manage entire logistic information systems appropriatelyÂ
• Develop leads and cold call potential customersÂ
• Listens to customer queries patiently and find resolution to issuesÂ
• Manage and negotiate ratesÂ
• Able to multitask and resolve issues in high pressure situationsÂ
• Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalismÂ
• Other duties may be assignedÂ
Â
Education and Experience: Â
• College degree in related field preferredÂ
• Previous experience in customer service and sales preferredÂ
• Knowledge of trucking industry a requiredÂ
Â

• Ability to use critical thinking skillsÂ
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively over the phone, through email, and face to faceÂ

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to determine transit timesÂ

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Â
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.Â
