The Level 2 Technician is a proficient and experienced technician with in-depth knowledge of audio-video, security, surveillance, control, and networking systems. This role leads installations, troubleshoots complex technical issues, and provides advanced on-site and remote support. Tech 2 technicians often mentor junior technicians and play a key role in ensuring project success. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage AV installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Design and implement complex AV systems, including programming and configuration.
- Troubleshoot advanced technical issues related to AV, security, and networking systems.
- Provide expert on-site technical support to clients, resolving complex problems and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Mentor and train Tech 1 technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales consultants to develop technical solutions.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including system diagrams and equipment lists.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and trends.
- Manage company tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certifications preferred (e.g., Control4, Lutron, Alarm.com).
- 3+ years of experience in AV installation or a related field.
- Expert knowledge of AV, security, and networking systems.
- Proficiency in programming and configuring AV control systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
