- Oriented to all care areas and to the Health Information department
- Assist with turning over stretchers and chairs as needed
- Knows location of equipment and supplies
- Performs clinical/patient care duties as assigned by RN
- Stock supplies for care
- Keeps caps, masks, and shoe covers stocked prn
- Assist patient with urinals, bedpans, and emesis basins
- Keeps patient nutrition station clean
- Keeps hallway free of clutter
- Checks/empties sharps containers in care areas if directed to do so
- Assists with Chart breakdown and filing
- Tracks loose reports and files
- Performs other Health Information duties as assigned
- Handle difficult patients and/or situations respectfully
- Take pride in providing patients with a positive experience
- Assists in the admission of patients to pre/postoperative area according to established guidelines
- Observes safety measures in patient-care areas
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities
REQUIRED: MEDICAL ASSISTANT DEGREE (AAS)
Preferred: MEDICAL ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION, BLS
