We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Electrical Engineer to deliver electronics designs and support sustaining engineering of released products. This role has a particular emphasis on board level troubleshooting, production support, component obsolescence management, and controlled engineering changes that maintain product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Â
The successful candidate will work closely with other engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Document Control in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of assigned electronic designs and act as a results-oriented team contributor supporting both new and released products
- Create, update and validate electronic designs as part of a new product development process or in response to needed design changes of a existing designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronics hardware issues affecting manufacturing yield, reliability, and field performance of released products.
- Perform hands-on board-level debugging and failure analysis using schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Support manufacturing floor activity by identifying electrical root causes, recommending corrective actions, and validating implemented solutions.
- Manage electronics component obsolescence, including identifying at-risk parts, sourcing alternates, and evaluating form, fit, and function compatibility.
- Implement electronics design changes to released hardware while preserving system architecture.
- Escalate system-level design concerns to Product Engineering as required while independently resolving component- and board-level issues.
- Build and modify breadboard and bench-level prototypes using existing hardware, and development boards.
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineering to integrate designs and modifications into fixtures, enclosures, and instrument assemblies.
- Author and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for electronics hardware, component substitutions, and documentation updates.
- Collaborate closely with Document Control to maintain accurate revision control of schematics, BOMs, and associated documentation.
- Document troubleshooting activities, change rationale, and validation results clearly to support manufacturing and quality records.

- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits with proven board-level troubleshooting expertise.
- Proficient in creating and interpreting schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using standard ECAD tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).
- Extensive hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and related test equipment.
- Demonstrated experience managing component lifecycle and obsolescence issues.
- Familiarity with formal ECO, configuration management, and documentation control processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clear technical documentation.
