This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. 

  • Design building automation systems for buildings of various use with the assistance of senior engineers. 
  • Participate in sales turnover meetings to receive project mechanical drawings, specifications, and details from the sales team. 
  • Apply the appropriate equipment and end devices to provide the most cost-effective solution to meet the project specifications. 
  • Support the preparation of a complete engineering package of all required network diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, flow diagrams, valve and damper schedules, bill of material, and equipment submittals for approval by the client engineering firm and delivery to the installation team. 
  • Assist Project Manager(s) in ordering projects’ required products and  equipment. 
  • Visit sites as required for field engineering building automation retrofits and upgrades or new construction quality control inspections. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies. 
  • Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance. 
  • Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business. 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: 

    • Equivalent experience, or a Bachelors of Science in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred. 
    • Knowledge and understanding of industrial HVAC applications, ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications is preferred. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. 
    • Commitment to our “open door” policy and regular contact with all field employees. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation. 
    • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment, requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach, push, pull bend and twist. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl through narrow, enclosed or elevated spaces; move up and down stairs. Visually inspect and locate equipment and products. Read information, often in small print. Enter and locate information on a computer system or communication device. Write documents, reports etc. using a writing instrument (e.g., pencil, pen) or computer. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is in an office environment with moderate to low noise levels and is typically sedentary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to varying temperatures, work areas that may be slippery and or wet, near equipment and mechanical moving parts. Work indoors for extended periods of time. Local travel required with Occasional travel to other Albireo sites. Occasional work overnight, weekends, and rotating/varying shifts. This is an office position with availability of some remote work.
