About the Job
Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Veterinary Assistant Lab Technician to join our busy specialty and emergency veterinary hospital for a mid-day shift position. We are looking for a dependable professional to support our growing laboratory team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely sample processing, maintaining quality assurance standards, and communicating with third-party diagnostic labs. We value a strong team-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely diagnostics that support patient care across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
• Receive and process internal and external laboratory requests in a timely and accurate manner
• Conduct in-house diagnostic procedures including fecal ova and parasite testing, hematology, urinalysis, and dermatology/otic sampling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized laboratory workspace
• Restock laboratory supplies according to inventory needs
• Process and submit samples to third-party diagnostic laboratories and ensure proper tracking
• Maintain records for all lab work and samples placed on hold
• Enter data accurately into medical records, charge systems, and inventory logs
• Communicate with outside lab representatives to address and resolve discrepancies or delays
• Report equipment issues to the Lead Laboratory Technician for resolution
• Follow all protocols related to quality assurance, accuracy, and safety

Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital or veterinary laboratory setting
• Experience with Abaxis, IDEXX, and/or Heska diagnostic equipment preferred but not required
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
• Proficient in medical software and record-keeping
• Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
