Adelphi is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care and services at various correctional facilities in Virginia. The ideal candidate will provide nursing care to patients through collaborative efforts with health team members while adhering to standards of care and practice.

Requirements:

• Active Virginia license

Responsibilities:
• Participates in the screening, evaluation, and care of inmates while under the supervision of a physician and/or registered nurse.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
• Coordinate with other medical and ancillary personnel, as required, to ensure continuity of care.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
• Provide appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situations.
• Comply with all state requirements and facility policies and procedures.
• Additional duties as assigned by facility.
