Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers
  • Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the Electronic Medical Record system
  • Assists in connecting patients with various patient assistance programs offered
  • Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with various pharmaceutical representatives
  • Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations, answer questions about medication interactions and clarify prescriptions
  • Takes incoming phone calls from patients and assists them with medication concerns or takes messages for the physician.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices, including medical terminology and of insurance payors 
  • Ability to get along with the public and make patients feel welcome and comfortable
  • Must be willing to travel to satellite offices if necessary
  • Must maintain appropriate Pharmaceutical license
  • Must have the ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers
