Role Summary:
The Precision Assembler will be responsible for the preparation of pump assembly work and documentation. This position will assemble a variety of equipment and tools, perform required testing, and support pump disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly during repairs. This role will also include Line Up work such as coupling pumps with electric motors on base plates and executing piping and tubing plans as directed. The individual will use modern materials and tools to ensure delivery of a high‑quality product.
Responsibilities:
• Complete pump assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing when required. Â
• Perform Line Up tasks including mounting pumps to motors on base plates.
• Support piping and tubing layout work, connection preparation, and pipe end processes when required. Â
• Read and interpret blueprints and perform accurate measurements in the assembly process. Â
• Operate precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial indicators. Â
• Demonstrate an advanced understanding of inspection equipment and ensure all parts and assemblies meet specifications. Â
• Ensure all parts and components are clean prior to assembly and follow all assembly procedures. Â
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within assembly. Â
• Have a sharp eye for detail and a results‑oriented approach. Â
• Calculate basic mathematical functions including rate, ratio, percent, and unit conversions. Â
• Participate in CIP activities and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures. Â
• Write routine reports and communicate clearly with peers, supervisors, and customers. Â
• Demonstrate a customer‑service mindset with a focus on on‑time delivery and quality workmanship. Â
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience similar to pump assembly. Â
• Basic computer skills for data entry and Microsoft Office. Â
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends on short notice. Â
• Team‑oriented behavior and commitment to continuous improvement. Â
• Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
• Experience with piping, tubing, or plumbing work, including forming connections or pipe‑ending processes Â
• Ability to perform shaft‑to‑shaft alignment using laser alignment tools or dial indicators Â
• High School Diploma/GED, Trade school or vocational training  Â
• Workshop experience Â
