Position Overview:

 

The Alternate Sourcing Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to ensure the timely availability of products and materials at optimal cost and quality. This role involves negotiating pricing, maintaining supplier relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to support operational and business needs. The Alternate Sourcing Buyer plays a key role in optimizing procurement processes, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source and purchase materials, products, and services that meet company quality and cost objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with clients to achieve cost savings and ensure supply chain efficiency; This includes hitting weekly/ monthly budgets.
  • Evaluate and monitor client performance to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and service levels.
  • Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts, and procurement trends to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical sourcing guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and logistics, to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Monitor market trends, industry conditions, and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and client agreements to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Resolve supply chain disruptions, delivery issues, and quality discrepancies with clients.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation for audits and performance tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Environment:

  • Warehouse Office – approx. 65F – 75F

 

Schedule:

  • 8am-5pm
  • Monday-Friday

Compensation:

  • $60,000-$75,000

 

Experience:

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in sourcing strategies and client negotiations.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in cost analysis, market trends, and purchasing best practices.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Ariba), and inventory management tools.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
