Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, The Fitter/Welder will be responsible for but not limited to:
Â
- Read and follow detailed written instructions and fabrication drawings.
- Perform accurate measurements and calculations using feet, inches, and fractions.
- Successfully pass a 1-inch thick 2-G welder qualification.
- Pass a tack welder qualification (visual macro break test).
- Operate carbon air-arc equipment for back gouging processes.
- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to, and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
- Mentors apprentices and junior fitters by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.

- Monday to Friday
Â
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Fitting/Welding structural steel experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes.
- Current or past AWS certification for FCAW, MCAW.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
- A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within
     a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
- Organization skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
- Communication skills – both written and oral.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
