PrimaryRole:Â
The Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent and mayÂ
oversee the direct work of small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1’s. J1’s routinely performÂ
installation, alteration and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials andÂ
equipment. Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity to learn and grown in other divisions of Amteck, like low voltage, controls, process work, and fire alarm along with other skill sets within the electrical trade.Â

Responsibilities:Â
Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit usingmeasuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical bendersÂ
Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feederconductorsÂ
Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuitingÂ
Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematicsÂ
Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, includingunderground layoutÂ
Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizingÂ
Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuitsÂ
Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job siteÂ

Requirements:Â
5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrialenvironmentsÂ
Equipped with all tools required by company policy and able to use them to perform assignedtasksÂ
Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision makingÂ
Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtimeÂ
Has an interest and aptitude to learn job-related material through oral instruction andobservation, typically in an on-the-job settingÂ
Demonstrate a team-player mentality by listening and understanding directions, workingcooperatively with others, and working safely without any threat to self or othersÂ
Possess basic mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical ability, and the ability to learn to readbasic construction documents used dailyÂ
The willingness to participate in field training, whether it by OJT, classroom-based, orcompletely virtual Â

Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs, frequently and at long distances(30+ feet) as needed.Â
Ability to move up or mount by using the hands or feet to include: Ladders - Step stool, 8' to 10'ladder, extension ladder, Stairways - 3 or more flights. This includes working at heights over 30feet.Â
To stretch out, extend, or put forth a bodily part. To touch or grasp something, by extending orstretching. To touch, lift, hold or operate with the hands up to 50 timesdaily.Â
To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend,downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 20-50 timesdaily.Â
Perform skilled work in cramped areas, overhead, at heights, and in a variety of weatherconditions. Â
