We are also proud to be recognized as an Employer of Choice, offering competitive benefits, professional development opportunities, and a supportive environment where employees feel valued, empowered, and connected to meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
In this role, you will serve as a vital leader and role model, driving the operational success and inclusive culture of our programs. This multifaceted role blends high-level administrative management-including counselor recruitment, staff training, and registration logistics-with hands-on program development to ensure a safe, engaging, and value-driven experience for all campers. You will directly supervise and mentor a diverse team of counselors, fostering a supportive community through regular coaching, conflict resolution, and performance feedback. Beyond personnel management, you will oversee daily activity planning, manage camp resources and budgets, and maintain rigorous health and safety standards in compliance with agency policies. Whether facilitating staff workshops or leading inclusive games, you will be instrumental in creating a transformative summer environment that reflects our organization's core values.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should be a highly organized leader with at least three years of supervisory experience and a strong background in summer camps or outdoor education. You must have a deep understanding of the developmental needs of youth and individuals with disabilities, paired with the ability to implement effective behavior-management techniques and safety procedures. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, we value candidates who demonstrate exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments, and proficiency with database systems. A valid driver's license (with a willingness to drive 15-passenger vehicles) and a commitment to obtaining First Aid/CPR certification are essential. Most importantly, you should be a collaborative team player who is eager to give and receive constructive feedback to foster both personal and program growth.
This role requires a high degree of physical mobility and sensory awareness to effectively deliver services both in the office and out in the field. Candidates must possess the communication skills necessary to interact professionally with the public and colleagues-whether in person or via telephone-which includes the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly. Additionally, the position involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling, alongside the manual dexterity required to operate standard office equipment and handle various objects. Reliable transportation or the ability to travel to off-site locations is essential for the successful delivery of field-based supports.Â
