Summary / Primary Role:
The position of Mechanic will have primary responsibility to work in conjunction with other mechanics to perform regular inspections and routine maintenance, and repairs on company tractor(s) and trailer(s) in compliance with Federal and State regulations. Â

What You’ll Do:
- Adhere to maintenance, shop rules and safety regulations.Â
- Establish and maintain relationships with co-workers(s), and driver(s).Â
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors and other assigned mechanics.Â
- Follow applicable checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.Â
- Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers’ performance specifications. Â
- Confer with drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed. Â
- Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Â
- Trouble shooting and diagnostic review of issues found with tractors and shop equipment.Â
- Preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, and trailers.Â
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.Â
- Proficient at entry level mechanic duties, including but not limited to fluid changes, preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics, minor repairs, and troubleshooting.Â
- Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance of diesel equipment. Â
- Repair and troubleshooting of electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems on equipment.Â
- Ability to read and comprehend manual, wiring diagrams, schematics, diagnostic tools, etc. Â
- Make all other general repairs and/or adjustments on vehicles in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications.Â
- Maintain and repair shop equipment.Â
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.Â
- Participate in company training programs, safety events, company functions and meetings when requested.Â
- Assist in training and development of new mechanics.Â
- All other duties and projects assigned.
Â
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.Â
- A minimum of four years of experience as a diesel mechanic.Â
- Must own and maintain adequate hand tools. Â
- Knowledge of Federal, State, OHSA, EPA and DOT regulations is required.Â
- This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and will include a 5-panel drug test that includes marijuana. Â
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) is preferred.Â
- Responsible for periodic driving duties of non-CDL commercial vehicles within the parameters of your job duties, which will further require you to always maintain an active driver’s license. Should your driver’s license status change, you are required to report the change to your supervisor immediately.Â
