We are looking for a Winding Process Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Winding Engineering Process to include researching, planning, designing, developing, testing and analyzing electromechanical components, equipment and systems. This individual will work closely with the Electrical Engineering group, Project Management and shop personnel.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 ​ per year

Your Challenge:

  • Serves as key engineering resource for Winding and supports resolution of technical issues and concerns regarding processes, tooling and related items

  • SME supporting the maintenance of winding standards for stator and rotor winding personnel for each product line, model and/or machine type (SUB, SUB1, GEN, PUMPS, etc.)

  • Daily oversite of each product to evaluate stops and paperwork concerns

  • Support weekly maintenance and publication of Winding efficiency metrics

  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering and the Electrical Engineering group to address winding and material questions and issues

  • Investigate and analyze highly technical winding issues and assist in establishing procedures and methods

  • Assists with determination of design approaches and parameters. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability

  • Identify new and/or improved processes for reducing rework, cycle-time, and costs for assigned projects

  • Leads the Winding Trainee program classroom modules explaining the technical side of winding and the importance of the product

What you Bring:

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Coursework in Electrical Power Engineering, Power Electronics, or Electrical Machines preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in design or manufacturing

  • Ability to travel 5% - 15% per year dependent upon projects assigned

  • Ability to drive change and improvements within an organization

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Professionalism and commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement

  • Attention to detail and learning agility

  • Understanding of electrical systems and design principles. Analytical and problem-solving ability
